Foley

E. Brain & Co. Ltd. was a porcelain manufacturer that was founded in 1885 by Elijah Brain in Foley, Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent, England.

“FOLEY CHINA” was actually the trade name of E Brain & co. Ltd.

Whether or not we call them just “Foley”.

Later, E. Brain & Co. Ltd. was acquired by Coalport.

The 'THE FOLEY CHINA' mark and the intertwined 'W' and 'C' logo inside a shield shape are the official brand name and backstamp used by the British pottery company, Wileman & Co.

At the time, in the Foley region, there were at least five other pottery factories (such as E. Brain & Co., James Kent, etc.) besides Wileman & Co. All of them used the place name 'Foley' on their pottery.
